Beverly Neal-Clinton of Los Alamos is always on the move. Her business, NM Mobile Notary and Fingerprinting, keeps her burning up the highway all over northern New Mexico and even to Albuquerque. She might be heading for Taos at 6 a.m. or driving back from a client’s house at 11 p.m., with a mobile scanner, a printer, her notary stamp and the other tools of her trade are in the trunk.
The company, founded in 2019, gives people the services of a notary and a fingerprinting expert without leaving their home or business. The company is insured and bonded.
“The company is designed to work with and around your schedule in a secure, professional and efficient manner,” Neal-Clinton said.
The business provides professional ink only fingerprinting services for businesses, corporate contracts, government employment, out-of-state medical, bar, licensing, certifications, visas, organizations and individuals. In addition to knowing how to handle other notarizing tasks, Neal-Clinton has the specialized training to handle contracts and loan agreements.
“I’ve been a notary a long time, because I was a court reporter,” she said. “It was a natural transition. I loved that career. This is the only job that’s better!”
Neal-Clinton has lived in Los Alamos for 20 years. Her three sons graduated from Los Alamos Public Schools. Her husband is employed at Los Alamos National Laboratory and loves his career. Neal-Clinton also spent 15 years at LANL, but she discovered her calling was as an entrepreneur and left LANL to found her business.
“This job gives me a high level of independence,” Neal-Clinton said. “It’s nice to be your own boss. With the pandemic, my workload increased dramatically. I might make the job look easy, but it’s not. Luckily I love this job and I’m grateful for that. I meet amazing people.”
Security is a high priority for Neal-Clinton. She wants clients to know their information is secure with her.
“Los Alamos is a small town and I don’t look at information I don’t need to know for notarizing the document for example,” she said.
Audio books help Neal-Clinton pass the time when she’s on the road and she enjoys the opportunity to catch up on her reading, but she’s always aware of her beautiful surroundings here in New Mexico.
“When I’m old, I’ll have great eye-candy memories to look back on,” she said.
